We take pride in the staff employed to work with our students, at all levels, to provide the high standards of education for which Alvirne has come to be recognized. Effective communication to parents and the community at large is important to us and therefore we are hopeful that this site will allow more community members easy access to key information regarding Alvirne.
Academic Decathlon
Alvirne High School has won the 2008 Academic Decathlon State Championship. This is Alvirne's 10th year in a row that they are state champions.. Our students won a total of 6 gold medals, 2 silvers and 6 bronze.
One of our students, Shanna Weitz, won the Academic Decathlon $500.00 scholarship and can use that toward the college of her choice. The team will be participating in the National Competition in California April 30th through May 3rd.
Class Act - Current Activities
In June (date TBA), Class Act will hold sign ups for the 4th Summer Shakespeare Project. Previous years’ shows included Much Ado About Nothing, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Romeo & Juliet. This year’s play will be A Comedy of Errors and participation is open to students ages 13-18+. This is a free summer theater workshop that rehearses three evenings a week, takes two field trips (Boston, MA and Derry, NH) to view Shakespeare in the Park performances, and culminates in two public performances in mid-August.

Granite State Challenge
High schools from around the state compete against each other to win bragging rights and grant money for their school. The competition features 32 teams in a single elimination tournament competing in half-hour shows that are pretaped over a few weeks and air through the broadcast season.
