Mandatory Parent Meeting for Students Trying Out for Fall Athletics
There will be a mandatory meeting for parents whose student/athletes plan on trying out for a fall sport for the coming fall season 2012, at Alvirne High School. The fall teams include: boys’ soccer, girls’ soccer, boys’ cross country, girls’ cross country, golf, volleyball, and football, fall cheerleading. The meeting will be held on June 27, 2012 at 6:30 pm in the Alvirne cafeteria. Parents will be asked to sign in at the meeting confirming their participation. This meeting is for grades 9-12 and attendance is mandatory for all incoming freshmen parents as well as any parent who has not attended a previous athletic policy meeting. Parents of winter and spring athletes are encouraged to attend as well as all athletes regardless of what season they are participating in are expected to adhere to the athletic policies. If parents cannot make this meeting in June, there will be another meeting held on August 6, 2012 at 6:30 in the Alvirne cafeteria. The purpose of the meeting is to review the athletic policies which were adopted by the school board. The athletic policies can be found on the district’s website at www.sau81.org and parents are encouraged to read through the policies prior to the meeting. If you cannot make either meeting, you must call the athletic office at 595-1572 and make an appointment to view the video of the meeting.
