Welcome to the Alvirne High School Library & Media Center

ABOUT THE ALVIRNE HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY/MEDIA CENTER
The Alvirne High School Library/Center has over 12,500 print and media materials available to our faculty and students. The library renovation, which took place in the summer of 2011, has given students an opportunity to read and study in a modern academic and pleasing atmosphere. Lighting, carpeting and new shelving, as well as 30 brand new wireless PC computers have upgraded our facility to a genuine 21st Century Learning Center. We have an attached computer lab with 25 more PCs for student and classroom to use. The library uses Follett Software for our cataloging system and students can access the catalog from any of our library computers through our OPAC icon.
We are also pleased to announce a new software called “Destiny” by Follett, coming in 2013 that will allow students, teachers and parents to view our catalog online anywhere there is a computer available. This new software brings a graphic style to our catalog that allows our students to view the covers of books as well as read reviews before choosing a book off the shelf. Teachers will be able to see what is in our catalog to help them with their lesson plans, without leaving the classroom, and parents can help their student find a book or help with research material.
Please click “Databases” on the left under library to view our online resources.
Please click “Library Web Links” to view other resources.
Online resource log in information can be found on Edline in the "Library" section.
