Mandatory Parent Meeting for Students Trying Out for Spring Athletics
There will be a mandatory meeting on Thursday, February 23rd at 6:30 pm in the Alvirne gymnasium for all parents/guardians of athletes interested in trying out for a spring sport. Spring sports include Softball, Baseball, Outdoor Track, and Tennis. Tryouts will be held on Monday, March 19th. If you have attended the fall meetings or previously viewed the athletic policy video, you do not need to view it again.
In order to be academically eligible, a student must have an overall average of a C- (1.7 GPA) or better in the marking period immediately preceding the start of a listed activity. No student who has failed to pass four units of work during the previous quarter shall represent the school in any interscholastic contest. A minimum course load of five units per quarter is required for participation interscholastic. Teacher aide, office aide, and driver education do not count as units when determining eligibility.
There is a waiver process for academic eligibility and must be filed with the athletic office in a timely fashion.

- Monday – English, Math, Science, and Social Studies
- Tuesday – English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Foreign Languages and Study Skills
- Thursday – English, Math, Science, and Social Studies
